Overview

Visit two of New Zealand's most iconic attractions with this great value two tour combo and save over 25%! Day 1: Milford Sound Day Tour from Queenstown Departs 7:20am, returns 7:45pm Embark on a breathtakingly scenic journey to Milford Sound and experience the world-famous fiord in all its glory with a cruise on its pristine waters. Leaving Queenstown, travel past tranquil Te Anau, along the Eglinton Valley and through the Homer Tunnel, a 1.2km underpass drilled through solid rock. Experience The Chasm, a short but impressive walk over footbridges spanning powerful waterfalls and rapids. At Milford Sound, board a luxury three-level cruise catamaran for your 1 hour 45 minute scenic cruise. Explore the length of the fiord, seeing glacier-scarred rock walls, lush native forest and waterfalls tumbling down from high above. The dramatic profile of Mitre Peak, rising out of the fiord to a height of 1,692 metres above sea level, is another highlight. Whether you're outside on the large viewing decks or enjoying the comfortable booth seating inside, you're guaranteed spectacular views thanks to the unique glass roofs and live footage screens on board. Your cruise includes a tasty buffet lunch (Japanese Obento and Indian options available - contact us to swap at no extra cost.) After your cruise, return to Queenstown by coach. Alternatively, book a scenic flight option (optional extra). Day 2: Mount Cook Day Tour: Queenstown return Departs 7:30am, returns 6:30pm On day two, take a day trip from Queenstown to Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, home to New Zealand's highest mountain. Travel north, through the historic gold mining region of the rugged Kawarau River Gorge and past Cromwell, crossing the Lindis Pass and arriving at Omarama for morning tea (own expense). We continue through the rugged high country landscape of the Mackenzie Basin to Mount Cook Village, where you can gaze up at the 3,754 metre-high mountain Aoraki / Mount Cook, an important landmark in M?ori mythology. Enjoy the views from the iconic Hermitage Hotel over a delicious lunch (optional extra). There is also the chance to take off on a scenic flight over snow-capped mountains and ancient glaciers (additional cost, weather permitting – this can be arranged with your driver/guide on the day). Following our lunch stop, we depart Mount Cook Village and retrace our journey to Queenstown, arriving in the early evening.
